Bookkeeping
Clean, current, reconciled books — the quiet foundation every good financial decision is built on.
Books you can actually rely on
Bookkeeping is where financial order begins. When the books are current and reconciled, everything downstream gets easier: GST/HST filings are right, year-end costs less, financing conversations go smoothly, and you can see how the business is actually doing — not how it felt three months ago.
We provide ongoing bookkeeping on a monthly or quarterly rhythm, supervised by a CPA. Transactions are categorized consistently, bank and credit card accounts are reconciled, and issues are flagged and resolved as they arise rather than discovered at year-end.
Behind, or starting from scratch?
Many clients come to us with months — sometimes years — of unrecorded activity, or with books that have drifted out of agreement with the bank. Catch-up and cleanup bookkeeping is routine work for us: we rebuild the records methodically, reconcile every account, and hand back a clean set of books along with a process to keep them that way.

Common questions about bookkeeping
Do you work with QuickBooks?
Yes — QuickBooks Online is our primary platform, and we also offer QuickBooks setup, cleanup, and training as a dedicated service. If you are on another system, we can work with it or help you migrate.
How often should my bookkeeping be done?
For most active businesses, monthly is the right rhythm: reconciliations stay small, errors are caught early, and reports are always reasonably current. Quarterly can suit smaller or simpler operations, often aligned with GST/HST filing periods. We will recommend a cadence honestly based on your volume.
My books are two years behind. Where do we start?
With a short review of what exists — bank statements, receipts, whatever records are available. From there we scope the catch-up work, give you a clear plan, and rebuild the books in order. It is almost always less painful than clients expect, and the relief of being current again is considerable.
Can you just review the bookkeeping I do myself?
Yes. Some clients prefer to record day-to-day transactions themselves and have us review, reconcile, and adjust periodically. It is a cost-effective arrangement, and it keeps a CPA's eyes on the records before anything is filed.
